We were invited to a Recording Academy screening of “The Wrecking Crew,†a great new film documentary by Denny Tedesco. Before the film and commentary, we took a tour of the new Grammy Museum in downtown LA and here’s a shot (L-R) of ace session drummer Jim Keltner, the one and only Jeff “Skunk†Baxter, and scoring composer CJ Vanston. If you Google these guys you will find out what an impact they have made on modern music over the past decades. CJ was kind enough to provide a book cover blurb for MUSIC SMARTS. Keltner and Vanston are featured in the new book. Baxter will surely be in the next edition!
